Michael Currin

June of 2007 marks thirty five years in the industry for our lead inspector/corrector and owner Michael.

Michael started in the carpet industry in June of 1972, working at Rogers Dye Finishers in Dalton, GA. After working there he moved to Masterpiece Finishers and worked his way into the quality control department as an inspector.

In late 1977 Michael moved to The Eastern New Mexico/ West Texas area and held various positions in warehousing with sales in both wholesale and retail, and installations staying within the floor covering industry.

The majority of that time was spent in the installation field. Mostly installing residential carpet and small commercial jobs. While installing carpet  Michael also installed resilient flooring and VAT, VCT tile and was a certified Armstrong installer. His installation experience spanned the decade, even installing for a couple of years while branching into inspections.

In June of 1986 Michael was certified by the National Association of Carpet Inspectors, and opened the Dallas Ft, Worth region for Carpet Specialist Technical Services, a company owned and operated by Lew Milgore, writer of the "Claims File" in Floor Covering News and is a premier inspector and consultant in the industry. Today Lew remains a mentor and good friend.

After about a year with Carpet Specialist Technical Services, C.S.T.S. was sold, and Michael opened his own independent inspection service, Carpet Specialists of Texas, and continued inspecting carpet and does so to this day, changing the name of the company to Flooring Warranty Services around the 2000.

In 1998 after attending The L.D. Brinkman / Hollytex inspector corrector school, feather blending and warranty service repairs such as steaming and grooming of roll crush were added to the company, leading to the name change. Also in 1998 Michael attended Mannington's Resilient Inspector school in Salem, New Jersey. Michael has also attended and passed courses in the Certified Floor Covering Installer seminars for inspectors and various technical certifications, but is no longer associated with the CFI.

In 2006 Mike attended the F.I.T.S. Hard Surface class held by Tandy Reeves furthering his experience in Inspections.
